Mayor Fraser presents “State of the Town” address.
January Luncheon Member Meeting
By Linda Sanbower-Burke
January’s membership meeting was a huge success! Held at Loudoun Golf and Country Club, a beautiful local venue, featuring a cozy fire in the large stone fireplace, members and guests enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared and served by Chef Brian and staff.
Seventy-seven people attended, SO many that a second dining room was needed! Excellent, lets keep it up! Part of our “motto” is; “Together we; grow our businesses, voice our opinions, plan our future.” The more we meet, talk, plan, the better off we’ll all be, businesses and community alike. Remember, as Mom always said, many hands make light work!
President Jim Bowman greeted the assembled and made several announcements.
- Nominations for the upcoming elections are being taken. Please contact Tim Doozan regarding nominations
- The next Mixer will be at Middleburg Bank on March 17th -look for more info on the web site calendar.
- Karaoke Karoling was a big success, raising $500.00 for the selected western Loudoun charities. Fun and Frivolity was had by all!
Following Jim’s remarks, Mary Liz McCauley presented the donations checks of $250.00 each to the Western Loudoun charities; Tree of Life received by Wayne Ruckman, and Blue Ridge Hospice received by Ernie Carnevale.
“Doc” Wiley spoke about the Purcellville Arts Council and their collaboration with new non-profit business owner Mary Litton, of Loudoun Valley Arts. Plans are moving forward and a list of approximately 30 artists is available to businesses that wish to have art exhibited in their offices, shops, and showrooms. Individual artist’s work can be reviewed to determine a “good fit” for each business.
