Town of Purcellville Partners with Loudoun County for a New Round of Business Interruption Grants

PURCELLVILLE, Va. September 25, 2020— The application period for the 2nd Round of Town of Purcellville Business Interruption Grants will close Tuesday, September 29, 2020; however, an additional option for Purcellville businesses has been made available through Loudoun County Department of Economic Development (DED).

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact Purcellville businesses.   At the September 8, 2020 meeting, the Town Council reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring relief and support opportunities continue to be made available to Purcellville businesses by dedicating an additional $450,000 to grants for the Purcellville business community.  This new round of grants is made available through the Town’s cooperative effort with Loudoun County Department of Economic Development.

This funding will provide an additional opportunity for up to ninety (90) Town of Purcellville businesses to receive a $5,000 business interruption grant.  The application period for the business interruption grants through DED, will be open until noon on September 30, 2020.  For this round of funding, applicants will be required to:

  1. Have between zero (0) and one-hundred (100) W-2 employees (no limit on 1099 contractors);
  2. Have less than $5 million in gross annual receipts;
  3. Have been in operation prior to March 1, 2020;
  4. Have at least a 25% loss in revenue that can be attributed to COVID-19; and
  5. Be a licensed and operational for-profit business in the Town of Purcellville and be current on all Town taxes, licenses, and permits.

Applicants who have not received funding in any previous round of grant opportunities, through Loudoun County or the Town of Purcellville, will be given priority in the receipt of funding.  If more than ninety (90) Purcellville businesses meet the criteria, grant recipients will be selected via random drawing. All eligible Purcellville businesses that do not receive funding will go back into the County’s random drawing process to be completed on October 23, 2020.

Grant program information can be found on the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development’s website: LoudounBusinessFund.org.  The application period for the business interruption grants through Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, will be open until noon on September 30, 2020. All submissions will be accepted based on the time stamp when the application was received, verified by county employees.

The application process for the Town of Purcellville’s 2nd Round Business Interruption Grants will remain open until Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 5 p.m.  You may apply online via the website or you may pick up a printed application at the Purcellville Town Hall, located at 221 South Nursery Avenue and either mail in your application or drop it off at Town Hall.
